Strawllers - Straw Set Curl Hair Rollers

Don't be fooled by the name! The "straw" in the title doesn't refer to how the hair feels after being transformed – instead, it attributes the instruments used to achieve this look. Simple plastic drinking straws were the original tools to use for creating these tight, shiny, charming ringlets.

A straw set can create gorgeous spiral curls.
Straw curls might best be defined as sassy, sexy, and confident. This look gives curls a completely new style, and though it takes some practice, it's easily mastered with time and patience. This style is often utilized by African American women for shiny, frizz-free, beautiful curls. Of course, if time is short and you prefer a professional stylist's touch, you'll benefit from one of the many hair salons that offer the service.

STEP 1: Start with clean hair. Shampoo and condition your hair. (Strawllers products recommended) Gently pat hair dry with a towel, taking care not to rub. (rubbing contributes to frizz)		STEP 2: Separate the hair into ¼" to 1" sections. Remember that the curl will be tighter if the hair section is smaller.

STEP 3: Prepare the hair for the Strawllers by folding the ends of the hair with the end paper. Depending on the texture of hair gel may be used to ensure best results and longer lasting curls. (end papers are optional)		STEP 4: Forming natural spirals, wrap sections of hair length wise around the Strawllers, starting at the bottom and rolling upward towards the scalp.

STEP 5: Secure hair by pinning the inside of the curl length wise against the scalp. (long bobbi pins/ hair clips for larger Strawllers)		STEP 6: Dry hair under a hooded dryer until hair is completely dry.

STEP 7: Gently unwind each Strawller one at a time. (Before unwrapping, ensure that the curls are completely cool.)		STEP 8: Apply Strawllers finishing shine and gently separate and arrange the curls with the fingers.
